The MACA International Film Festival happened between 27th to 31st July 2026 in Nigeria and filmmaker/animator Ssekaana Frank attended.
Uganda won 4 awards at the end of the festival, including;
1. Best Animation and Viewer’s Choice award to the animation – ‘United to save the environment’ by Ssekaana Frank
2. Best Indigenous Film – ‘Oluwonko’ by Mukiibi Geoffrey Bright 
3. Best Festival Poster/Key Art – ‘Half Chocolate Half Vanilla’ by Nodryn Evanci Kabuye
4. Best Film Overall – ‘Half Chocolate Half Vanilla’ by Nodryn Evanci Kabuye
