Ever imagined an event that comes to you and not you going to it (Traveling). In other words, take Uganda for instance; an event that has editions through out the year, however, these editions happen in every city across the country. Kampala, Jinja, Mbale, Soroti, Gulu, Arua, Mbarara, Fort Portal you name it. Here is the kicker; it’s not any kind of ordinary event where you go sit or dance, drink and listen to what the DJ has got to offer. Some call it a growing movement, some-a tribe, while others prefer to call it the perfect chill. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you;

O-FRIO is a Portuguese or Spanish word that translates to “The Cold”, nonetheless, in slung it is apparently meant to be loosely translated as “The Chill” (Quite ironic, isn’t it?). O-FRIO is an event that had its genesis back in 2023 in Kirowooza-Mukono district (Uganda), and continuously had yearly editions until today (2026). It started out as an ordinary barbeque event where folks would turn up to play outdoor games, enjoy the grill, have a drink or more and listen to some good tunes.

Nevertheless, with time it evolved into an event-platform where all kinds of artists would showcase what they can do with their skills and talents. A painter, a sculptor, a poet, an animator and the list goes on and on. Open MIC, Card & Board games, art exhibition, a tasty grill, networking with various talents, chill drinks and a melodic atmosphere is what awaits one at the fourth coming edition slated for 22nd August at its birthplace TRIPOLI APARTMENTS-MUKONO. And the best part is; they don’t charge a dime at the entrance.

Rumour has it that the organizers intend to make it move to every region in the country through out the year, in the near future. But, shhh…you didn’t hear that from me. 😉

O-FRIO…the chill…with chill vibes and a chill atmosphere, now that’s a plan.
