KAMPALA, Uganda The 5th Uganda Buildcon International Expo 2026 has brought together local and international players in the building and construction industry, creating a major platform for businesses, professionals and investors to explore new technologies, products and opportunities shaping Uganda’s construction sector.
The three day exhibition, held from 6 to 8 August 2026, is taking place at the UMA Multi Purpose Hall, Lugogo, Kampala, bringing together exhibitors showcasing building materials, construction equipment, engineering solutions, architecture, interior products and emerging technologies. The expo is open to visitors free of charge.
Minister Harriet Ntabazi officially opens the expo
The exhibition was officially opened on Thursday, 6 August 2026, by Hon. Harriet Ntabazi, State Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
During the opening ceremony, Minister Ntabazi called on Ugandans to follow approved building plans, physical planning requirements and construction regulations, warning against construction in wetlands and other areas where development is not permitted.
She also encouraged international exhibitors and investors to explore opportunities in Uganda, pointing to the country’s growing demand for quality housing and infrastructure.
The minister further raised concerns about underweight cement, saying substandard construction materials can undermine building quality and safety.
More than 125 companies showcase construction solutions
According to the official expo invitation, this year’s edition features 125+ exhibiting companies from more than five countries, showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in the building and construction industry.
The exhibition brings together products ranging from architectural hardware, tiles and sanitaryware, construction equipment and block-making machinery to paints, fire-fighting systems, pumps, construction chemicals, waterproofing, air conditioning, lifts and escalators, roofing, façades, wires and cables, glass fittings and wood-based products.
The official organisers describe Buildcon as a platform for business networking, product demonstrations, knowledge exchange and investment opportunities within Uganda and the wider East African construction market.
Companies bringing their expertise to Buildcon

Among the companies and brands associated with the exhibition are Madhvani Steel, Regal Paints Uganda, Electro Centre Ltd, Bharat Screed Private Limited, Sani Engineering and Automation Ltd, Shanglong Industry Company Ltd, Coral Paints, Wilo Middle East & Africa and Pool Doctors The Aquatic Solutions.
The exhibition also connects with a wider network of construction and manufacturing companies, including JCB Construction Machinery, Kansai Plascon Uganda, Steel and Tube Industries, Visaka Industries, National Housing, Universal Ready Mix Concrete, Super Terrazzo Uganda, Mahaveer Distributors, Maxmech Equipments and Wasib Solutions, among others. The organisers’ previous post-show material lists several of these companies among participating brands.
For visitors, the diversity of exhibitors provides an opportunity to compare local manufacturing, international technology and specialised construction solutions under one roof.
A platform for Uganda’s construction future
Beyond displaying products, Uganda Buildcon is creating space for architects, engineers, contractors, developers, property investors, suppliers, manufacturers and government stakeholders to meet and exchange ideas.
The organisers say the expo is designed to help professionals discover new products, industry trends, technologies and potential business partnerships, while strengthening connections between Uganda and international markets.
The participation of companies from countries including India and Egypt further demonstrates the international character of the exhibition and Uganda’s potential role as a market for construction technologies serving the wider East African region.
From materials to technology

Walking through the exhibition floor, the story is not only about cement, steel, roofing or tiles. It is also about how technology is changing the way buildings are designed, constructed, powered, protected and maintained.
Products on display cover fire protection, water systems, construction machinery, energy efficiency, electrical systems, interior design and modern building finishes.
For Uganda, where demand for housing, commercial buildings and infrastructure continues to grow, access to better construction technologies and quality materials remains an important part of the country’s development conversation.
Building beyond the exhibition

As the 5th Uganda Buildcon International Expo reaches its final day at UMA Show Grounds, Lugogo, the exhibition leaves behind more than temporary display stands.
It has created a meeting point for local industry and international innovation, giving businesses an opportunity to find new customers, identify partners and introduce construction solutions to the Ugandan market.
The bigger impact, however, will be measured beyond the exhibition hall through the business partnerships formed, technologies adopted, investments attracted and construction standards improved.
For Uganda’s rapidly evolving built environment, Buildcon 2026 represents a simple but important message: the future of construction will depend not only on building more, but on building better, safer and smarter.
