Research shows that 99% of people who run from one relationship straight into another aren’t looking for “Love”—they are looking for an “Alibi.”
Listen to me closely, because I say this with love: If you just got divorced, separated, or walked out of a long-term relationship, STAY AWAY FROM THE ALTAR.
I know, I know. You want to show your Ex that you are “winning.” You want to prove that you are still “at the top of the market.” You want them to see your “New Chapter” photos on Facebook while they are still crying over the old ones.
But here is the truth no one tells you: When you run from one person’s chest immediately into another person’s chest, you aren’t finding a soulmate—you’re finding a Band-Aid.
And Band-Aids aren’t meant to be permanent; they are meant to cover a wound while it’s still bleeding.
Why jumping is dangerous:
1. The “Side-Piece” Trap:
You think they love you? Sometimes the person who was “on the side” while you were struggling only liked the secrecy, not the responsibility. Once you are officially theirs, the “thrill” dies, and the betrayal starts all over again.
2. Emotional Junk Mail:
You are carrying the garbage from your last house into a brand-new apartment. Eventually, the new place is going to smell just like the old one.
3. The Pointless Point:
If you have to elope just to “prove a point” to your Ex, your Ex is still the one in control of your life.
My Advice? Go Single. Go Quiet. Go Heal.
Be “Team Me” for a while. Heal your heart, fix your finances, and learn how to sleep in the middle of the bed again. When you finally choose to date, let it be because you are Full, not because you are Hungry.
Because remember:
A hungry person will eat anything—even if it’s poison. But a full person only eats what is high quality.
Let’s settle this in the comments:
Is “The Best Way to get over someone is to get under someone else” the biggest lie ever told? Or have you seen a “Rebound” actually work?
