#Penningmyjournal. Whoever takes your wife for a fling, heart no jealous. Eerie as it may sound, it’s a principle I hold firm. It’s a philosophy in Luo & Masai culture of the yore.
If your wife deserts you & after desires to return, give her & children a portion of your land & let her with brood dwell there as their inheritance, & have a place to be buried. Your children will always stick to their mother. And if you wish to live separate, so be it.
Do not shame or ask too many questions with who/ or where she has been, for she has swallowed pride for her to return. She & her children are part of your wealth & will prop you up in your sunset as you weak in health.
Many today might struggle for its understanding. But the wisdom in this will save & win you many battles. I will tell you why? Will relate it with the Torah.
I have a Jewish friend & follow readings in the Torah. Every faith has its wisdom.
Reading the Torah today, in Genesis 12, there’s the recant of there being a famine in Canaan. Abram had to migrate from Canaan south to the kingdom of Egypt to seek food.
Abram was 75 years & had a gorgeous wife known as Sarai, & knew many would lust for her, for he was frail & in state of want.
As he entered Egypt he said to her:
“Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon. And it will come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they will say: This is his wife; and they will kill me, but thee they will keep alive. Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister; that it may be well with me for thy sake, and that my soul may live because of thee.’
The princes of Egypt spotted her & rosed her to Pharaoh, the King of Egypt about her luscious enthralling beauty.
Pharaoh was immediately enticed by her pepping beauty & took her into his royal household as a wife.
In return, he sustained Abram with provision. Unbeknownst, Pharaoh began to river with vicissitudes of whacking problems.
He coincidentally learnt that he had been duped by Sarai that she was Abram sister. He attributed what plagued him in taking on Abram’s wife. Riled, he handed her over back to him for keeps.
Abram said nothing to Sarai though he knew that she had lay with Pharaoh in unison. Accepted her back without chiding, the drought was over. She had provided for him.
He took his possessions & flock, returned to Canaan, & life went on as usual. For he knew Pharaoh had taken away nothing, she was with him out of desperation & he didn’t have her heart. Even God had cut short her sojourn in Pharaoh’s palace.
My brothers, the curse of wanting to possess anyone is the cause of flooding misery. Rid yourself of it & you light to happiness.
What you don’t know, don’t take to heart. And if it now bothers you cause you have come to discover, it wasn’t an issue anyway. There are many more troubles for heart in this world than matters of who slept with who.
The beauty you see in a partner everyone sees, & may lust. Live with that in mind. Don’t try own someone else’s handsome or someone’s beauty. It will soul you pelting anguish.
The deeper learning here, even if people take from you what is dear, do not tear or live in fear. What is yours in this world will always return to you. And if anything is purposed for you, nobody can stop it.
A man must experience many happenings in his journey to be a man, and this for many will be one of them.
