SCREEN ACTORS GUILD UGANDA MEETING

Today was historic, and I was honoured to be there to witness and actively participate as the Screen Actors’ Guild of Uganda held its very first public engagement with its members and prospective members.

The strategic meeting took place at UICT, in partnership with UCC, bringing together actors and industry professionals for an important conversation about building a stronger and more professional screen acting industry.

I was honoured to be one of the guest speakers, where I presented on “Professional Preparation for an Actor for Career Jobs.” Other speakers included Kizito Samuel Saviour and Matthew Nabwiso.

Doreen Mirembe and Nathan Magoola also offered one-on-one clinics, giving actors an opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance privately.

The Guild leadership shared exciting plans in the pipeline and encouraged actors to fulfil the requirements for membership and become part of this growing professional community.

I can’t wait to see the fruits of this engagement and the impact the Guild will have on Uganda’s screen acting industry.

Congratulations to the organisers, the Guild leadership, and all the screen actors who participated. This is only the beginning!
