The manner in which this regime does things makes you wonder whether these people have actual thinkers in their ranks. Does the NRM have people who understand that there will be a Uganda after the NRM? Do these people think the NRM is all there should be?
This much-talked-about Sovereignty Bill is absolute rubbish. It is dangerous, disastrous, and extremely unnecessary. Anyone who supports it does not love Uganda – they simply love the NRM. It’s as simple and straightforward as that.
We already have legislation that checks funding (whether local or foreign) suspected to be from questionable sources or intended for questionable purposes. Every day, people’s accounts are being frozen for these very reasons.
The Governor of the Bank of Uganda, Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego, has explained in detail that this bill will set us back significantly and cause a severe economic shock. But no – the powers that be do not want to listen; they think they understand the economy better.
As for the lobbyists, MPs, politicians, political commentators, NRM sycophants, and influencers pushing for this bill, all I can say is that you are selfish, myopic, and extremely unpatriotic.
You’ve chosen to safeguard your interests and fill your stomachs and purses at the expense of other Ugandans. I hope those stomachs and purses weigh you down into your graves.
