NEW MOVIE TRAILER: WEAK END

WEAK END tells the story of a seemingly peaceful marriage built on years of devotion and shared sacrifice. The couple believes they have conquered their past and sealed their future with love. But that fragile balance is shaken when the woman’s former fiancé returns from abroad. Old memories, buried emotions, and unfinished promises resurface, threatening to dismantle everything they have built. What follows is a gripping emotional battle where love is placed under siege and loyalty is tested to its limits.

This is a deeply human story exploring how the past never truly stays buried, and how relationships can fracture at their weakest point.

The film is directed by Irene Enyegu Sseremba, a filmmaker whose journey is a testament to consistency and perseverance. Over the years, Irene (also known as Iryn Nanziri Sseremba) has quietly but relentlessly worked her way through the Ugandan film industry, contributing across different departments and steadily building a solid creative reputation. Her name now appears on numerous film titles, including directing Pearl Magic Prime drama series ‘LOVING BEYOND’, and now WEAK END stands as another strong milestone in a career shaped by patience, resilience, and passion for storytelling. She remains a clear inspiration to many emerging filmmakers navigating the same path.

WEAK END is produced by Mwanguya Lauren, a remarkable 17-year-old filmmaker and student at Makindye Secondary School. Despite his young age, Mwanguya brings over six years of experience in film, having worked as an editor and sound recordist on several projects mentored by filmmaker Ssesimba Tadeo. With WEAK END, he officially steps into the role of producer, marking an impressive transition and signalling the rise of a new generation of Ugandan filmmakers driven by skill, discipline, and vision.

The film is set to premiere on 22nd May 2026, screening on Stream East and in cinemas.
