Laura Kahunde is a Ugandan actress, television presenter, and performing artist, celebrated for her versatility and impactful contributions to Uganda’s entertainment industry.

Born on October 23 in Kampala, Laura comes from a family with strong artistic and cultural roots. Laura is a sister to Ugandan vocalist Juliana Kanyomozi. She is the youngest child of Mr. Gerald Manyindo and Mrs. Catherine Manyindo, and a cousin to King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the reigning Omukama of Toro in Western Uganda.

Laura has built a solid acting career, most notably through her collaborations with acclaimed Ugandan filmmaker Mariam Ndagire. Her standout film & drama series performances include Hearts in Pieces (alongside the late Abby Mukiibi), Where We Belong Dear Mum, Love Faces, Kyaddala, Second Chance, Damalie and more. These roles have established her as a powerful actress capable of delivering emotionally grounded and authentic performances.

Beyond film, Laura is widely recognised as the host of Our Perfect Wedding Uganda, a popular reality television series on Pearl Magic Prime that celebrates the love stories and wedding journeys of Ugandan couples. Her warmth, professionalism, and on-screen presence have endeared her to audiences nationwide. With over a decade of experience in media and entertainment, she has earned her place among Uganda’s most respected television personalities.

Outside her artistic work, Laura Kahunde is also a social worker and advocate, actively supporting causes such as the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Her work on and off screen reflects a commitment to using art and influence for social impact.

In 2026, Laura takes on a leading role in the highly anticipated Ugandan feature film LONGING TO BELONG, written, directed, and executive produced by Mariam Ndagire. She stars as Molly, a complex character in a story that explores themes of belonging, identity, love, and resilience. The film features an ensemble cast including Henry Kabanda (Simon), Annet Nandujja (Eseza), Amina Nalugwa “Amor” (Shanaaz), among others. Its official premiere is set for Friday, 13th February 2026, at Bat Valley Theatre, Kampala.
