ITS NOT TOO LATE

Dear Dad,

It’s me, script, your lovely firstborn daughter.

A firstborn daughter that was bestowed on to you as a miracle following the nine miscarriages mummy faced that broke her, but still kept hopping. I’m the daughter you loved and cherished from the offset of birth, just like you loved her mom after your first gaze upon her magical beauty.

I’m your firstborn daughter in whom you had hopes to fulfil your faded dreams, even when she was too weak to reach their requirements. You taught her life the hard way without caring if it will break her into isolation and depression, at that point the love you had was dominated by your zeal to make her the best and protect the family legacy and respect for God knows how long it ever existed

I’m your firstborn daughter who failed to respect you but instead feared you for how insecure and too protective you had become. The fear and love you instilled in her life and her siblings felt more like slavery and captivity. But only you felt that they had become rebellious and ungrateful, reflecting that on their teenage age.

I’m your first daughter who is more scared for her siblings that are to live the rest of their lives with a beauty that became a beast. I’m scared for my little ones because they are to face more than I faced at their early age, only that I’m leaving for University with a thought of never coming back to that toxic environment

I’m your first daughter who has no permission to say a word to you regarding parenting because I’m just a teenager who knows nothing as you claim.

I’m your first daughter who wishes for life to fast backward to the years of love and harmony, understanding and caring. I’m not writing this because I disregard your parents hip, but I’m writing this for the little ones that are still too naive to come to face with the rage, harshness, selfishness and fear that comes with your aura whenever you’re near.
