Before joining the 10X Program at Refactory Academy, I was standing at a crossroads, eager to grow, but unsure of where to begin. I knew I wanted a future in technology, but I lacked the practical skills, mentorship, and clarity to move forward with confidence.
Like many young people, I faced the frustration of learning without doing, understanding concepts in theory, but never quite bridging the gap into real-world application. What I needed was not just training, but transformation. The 10X Program became that turning point.
The experience at Refactory was both challenging and empowering. I did not just learn software development, I learned how to think, how to solve problems, and how to build with purpose. Working with modern tools and real-world scenarios pushed me beyond my comfort zone and into growth.
Equally important were the soft skills I developed, communication, teamwork, and time management, which reshaped how I collaborate and show up in professional environments.
Mentorship stood out as one of the most powerful aspects of the journey. Being guided by peers and industry experts gave me perspective, accountability, and the confidence to keep improving.
One defining moment for me was completing a project where I built a solution entirely from scratch. It was not just about finishing the project, it was about proving to myself that I could take an idea and turn it into something real, functional, and impactful. That moment shifted how I see myself and what I believe I am capable of.
Today, I am actively pursuing opportunities in the digital economy while continuing to refine my skills through personal projects and continuous learning.
The 10X Program did not just prepare me technically, it prepared me mentally for the realities of the workplace. I now approach job applications with confidence, backed by hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of industry expectations.
Through practical projects, I have already begun applying my skills to solve real problems. And while I am still on the journey toward full employment, I am no longer uncertain, I am equipped. The program has opened doors to professional networks, expanded my opportunities, and most importantly, given me the courage to pursue roles I once believed were out of reach.
This journey has changed more than my career path, it has changed my mindset. I now see a future filled with possibility, and I feel a sense of ownership over my growth.
My transformation has not gone unnoticed. Those around me; my peers, friends, and family have been inspired to see technology not as something distant or unattainable, but as a real and viable path.
I have overcome barriers that once held me back, including limited access to quality training and self-doubt. Today, I move forward with confidence and purpose.
Looking ahead, I am committed to building solutions that create value, growing professionally, and contributing meaningfully to my community through technology.
I am open to opportunities across employment, freelance work, and collaboration, ready to apply my skills in ways that make a difference.
In the next 1–3 years, I see myself advancing in my career, working on impactful projects, and continuously evolving as a tech professional. The foundation I have gained through the 10X Program gives me both direction and momentum.
To any employer or partner, I bring more than just technical skills, I bring resilience, problem-solving ability, and a strong work ethic shaped through hands-on experience and continuous learning.
To anyone considering the 10X Program: show up fully. Be consistent. Ask questions. Push yourself beyond what feels comfortable. The growth is worth it.
To partners and supporters: investing in programs like Refactory is investing in real transformation. You are not just supporting training, you are unlocking potential, creating pathways, and shaping the future of the digital economy through young people like me.
