Tomorrow, next week..I need to get this out of the way first…it goes on and on, reasons why we cannot get time to do the things we actually love. Yet time, it ticks on, the days turn into months, months into years..I fear that one day, I’ll look back and regret why I never started to write that children’s book.
That has always been my dream. To write stories that give children that warm feeling in the stomach and light head feeling I used to get from reading books while growing up. I had rickets in my infancy, so I was not very fond of playing outside with “normal” kids. On the other hand, Books….they made me feel alive. Immersed in a story, I was limitless, I belonged and I was happy. Ever since, I feel like my purpose is to give the same feeling to some kid out there….dejected, insecure, lonely, sad or just curious.
For now, may this little post signal the beginning of a writing habit. And may I bring joy to a child out there one day…only then will I (feel) i am somebody.
P.s. Title borrowed from Vanessa Carlton album of the same name..released in 2002. The year i joined undergrad.
