The Buganda Kingdom, through the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts, concluded a successful two-day Youth Exhibition held from 14th to 15th November 2025, an event designed to showcase talent, creativity, innovation, cultural expression, and youth-led initiatives across Buganda. The exhibition brought together hundreds of young innovators, artists, cultural organizations, and stakeholders dedicated to empowering the next generation.
Among the outstanding achievers recognized during the closing ceremony was Zedmonk Ssabatontomi, Executive Director of Ethnic Prides Organization , who received an Award of Excellence as the Best Freestyle /Hip-Hop Artist.
The prestigious award was handed over by Prince David Kintu Wasajja , on behalf of the Buganda Kingdom Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts. This recognition highlights Zedmonk Ssabatontomi’s exceptional artistic talent, his cultural influence, and his dedication to inspiring young people through creativity and originality.

Zedmonk, widely celebrated for his unique freestyle performance style, continues to redefine hip-hop in Uganda with his spontaneous lyrical storytelling – “Rap What I See, Rap What I Say.” His performances stand out for their energy, authenticity, and deep cultural resonance. This award further solidifies his position as one of the most innovative youth voices shaping modern cultural expression in Buganda.
Beyond his musical achievements, Zedmonk serves as the Executive Director of Ethnic Prides Organization, a cultural heritage NGO committed to promoting identity, pride, creativity, and community development. Under his leadership, the organization has spearheaded numerous cultural programmes, youth initiatives, and empowerment campaigns that align with Buganda’s vision for a culturally grounded and empowered generation.
Representatives of Ethnic Prides Organization expressed immense pride in their leader’s accomplishment, noting that his recognition at such a prestigious Kingdom event demonstrates the power of culture-driven creativity and the importance of youth leadership in shaping society.

The Buganda Youth Day 2025 exhibition reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting and celebrating young people across arts, culture, innovation, business, and social impact.
