The Gazaland UOX League returned on Sunday with a series of surprises, as FC Kwagalana secured their first victory of the campaign and the battle at the top of the table became even tighter.
The win was a welcome breakthrough for FC Kwagalana, with DJ Roger among those celebrating a result that could give the team fresh momentum for the remainder of the competition.

According to the latest UOX League statistics, FC Kwagalana sit 14th with nine points from 10 matches. They have won two games, drawn three and lost five, scoring eight goals and conceding 19.
The top eight teams qualify for the Round of 16, and FC Kwagalana are currently six points behind eighth-placed Titan Era FC.
With the competition still producing unexpected results, a strong run in their remaining matches could yet change their fortunes.

Royal Army suffer setback in crowded title race

Royal Army are only one point behind, while Muvubuka FC, The Dynamos FC and Kababik FC are all on 18 points.
That means the top five teams are separated by just two points.
The fight for the remaining Round of 16 places is equally close. UOX Elites FC and UOX JAT FC are both on 16 points, while Titan Era FC occupy eighth position with 15.
Phenoms FC and Luseke FC are next on 13 points.
The standings underline the competitiveness of this year’s UOX League, where a single victory could significantly alter the race for qualification.
UOX JAT FC lead the scoring charts
The competition has also produced an intriguing battle for attacking supremacy.
UOX JAT FC have been the most prolific team in the league so far, scoring 28 goals. Titan Era FC have 25, while The Dynamos FC have scored 23.
Royal Army have found the net 21 times, with Muvubuka FC on 19.
The figures point to an increasingly important role for attacking players as the league moves towards its decisive stages.
The Golden Boot race is also expected to intensify as individual players compete for recognition while helping their teams chase qualification and the league title.
