Is Life Not Too Short?

Is life not too short?

Are we not allowed to wallow?

Why can’t we sit in our own piss peacefully?

Can’t we postpone action for a day or two without the world ending?

Is life not too short to waste on an enemy?

Too short to shoot people?

To wait for certainty?

Or to give up?

Is life not too short to deny someone a cry?

Why can’t we just forgive ourselves?

Is life not too short?

Is it not too short to hide who we are?

Too short to confess our immense affection for the ones we love?

Too short to keep moving when we need to pause and cry bitterly when we lose?

Is it not too short to suppress our lusts and appetites?

To bury our scars?

Why do we say “I hate” when we mean “I need”?

“I miss” when we mean “I don’t”?

Is life not too short to risk wasting it?

Is it not too short to try to love it?

Why is life so complicated?

Is it not too short?
