Why the big push?

Life is weird. After months of freaking out about a situation, things finally resolve themselves, whether you had a part in it or not and then you move on, hoping that now that the situation is behind you, you can live your best life, then boom! Something else happens, and your world is flipped on its head again, and it’s got me asking myself this question: Is chaos the default state of our reality?

And this is something that goes beyond us as people; everything is constantly changing! Like clouds, nothing is ever the same forever, and yes, things change over different time periods, but again, that fact feeds into this phenomenon: everything is constantly changing! I keep asking myself different variations of the same inquiry;

What motivates us to change our environment?

What makes us want to do more than survive?

What makes us want to create art?

What makes us demand a purpose from life?

What makes us want to explore our environment?

Is it an innate desire to control things?

Is it the competitive nature of our society?

Is it that our evolutionary advantage of intelligence was an overkill for the primary survival problems we had to solve? After securing a good hot meal and a cave to hide in… we got bored?

Is boredom the cause?

Or is it something deeper?

Is it just our programming? similar to the way the elements in the universe keep changing form and finding more, weirder and diverse ways to exist.

Is evolution the ultimate source code of the universe?

What is the source of this change, this constant unrest?

Is it an aftereffect of the Big Bang’s shockwave?

Like, things are still in constant motion because the explosion that birthed all this never really stopped!?

Or is it a philosophical question?

Should we wonder whether the Universe is alive and trying to understand itself?

Does it keep planting the need for change, for motion, for chaos in everything born of it, hoping that one day a satisfactory answer will be calculated, pondered or discovered?

Or maybe we should examine our own world views and beliefs about what is normal? Maybe order is a foreign concept that was born along with the rest of us, and trying to make it the default is rightfully met by natural resistance.

I wonder, I wonder, I wonder…

If anyone knows the answers to some of these questions or has a reading recommendation or even a video, please share them in the comments. I’d love to go down a few rabbit-holes in search of clues to this existential inquiry.
