What’s the Wagwis!

Hola,

We are back for yet another exciting week. So over the weekend, a common question came up and reached my ear drums, “What does Wagwis mean or stand for?”. Well, in simple terms “Wagwis” is a denotive of “Wagwan” which is a word in Jamaican Patois that is loosely translated as “What’s going on”. How did we resolve to end up with “Wagwis” as the name for our page?

Put a pin to that and let’s dive into this week’s fun craze;

SAMBA SAMBA

Being fit is one thing, however, getting to the level of fitness that one desires is another story of its own. Fitness comes with discipline and determination, unfortunately, not everyone can wield the power of those two qualities in regard to physical fitness. The number one hinderance being laziness, most of y’all know what i mean. Nonetheless, that’s something that is bound to be an itch of the past, here is why; DANCE FITNESS with KUKYINA MIXED FIT MARATHON.

BASAAMA

God gives meat to the toothless, here’s why and I am sure most of you would agree; people with the right resources to run and maintain a business do not know how to, while on the other hand, those without the resources in most cases tend to be the best business owners or partners. Nonetheless, regardless of the category you fall in, it is never too late to learn something new. I’m talking about the BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TRAINING with Dr Nataliey Bitature.

PS; It is a ladies only training.

Sorry Gents, try again next time.

RHYTHM AND POETRY

Rhythm and Poetry or better known as RAP is a vocal musical method of fusing rhythm with rhyme, poetry and street slang(in cases of the HIPHOP genre). RAP has been around for generations and every genesis of a new generation breeds a different type of rap species if you know what I mean. In Uganda, there is vast diversity in the style of rap; from the ghetto to the suburbs and from rural areas to urban areas. To the first timers and enthusiasts, BEATS & RAPS is one event you might want to consider gracing.

AFROS AND BELLY BOTTOMS

There have always been debates about Old skool Vs New skool, and i tell you this without hesitation, Old skool always carries the trophy. One of the reasons why I believe this always happens that way is because Old Skool is the GodFather and Father of New skool. There is nothing we have heard today that doesn’t have a footprint or something to do with the old. After all, an old broom sweeps best. 😉

Ladies and Gentlemen, THE ULTIMATE OLD SKOOL PARTY hosted by the only LOL Model in Uganda, the main gent himself DANIEL OMARA.

LOVERS BALLROOM

Nita Katushabe is a female Ugandan artist that tells stories through her music and she does it passionately. Ffembi, You still know, Mulongo are some of the songs done by this musical songbird. One thing about her music is that everyone from all walks of life can relate to the tales being told through her music, in a sense, she unites and speaks to people. A trait not every artist has. Instead of me blubbering about her, how about we all get down to SHISHS NYAMA VILLAGE and have a listen to the LOVE HUSTLE EP.

WAGWIS is an events brand that has an intriguing story behind its birth, a story of creativity, photography, videography and story telling. A story I would have to ask the CEO for more details, thus if he is ready to spill the beans.

But until then, I remain yours truly…
