STOP STEALING PEOPLE’S FILMS

A disturbing trend has continued to grow within the film industry, where some producers are uploading other producers’ films to YouTube without consent. This is theft of intellectual property and an unfair exploitation of other people’s hard work for personal gain.

I have been reliably informed that some of the individuals involved are prominent producers who have previously been warned about this practice, yet they chose not to comply.

In one shocking incident, a producer reportedly defended the act by saying, “My girlfriend who was abroad was asking me for the film, and that’s why I uploaded it on my channel.”

Others have allegedly been downloading films from fellow producers’ YouTube channels and re-uploading them as their own content. Some even purchase films from video libraries only to upload them online without any written or verbal permission from the rightful owners.

Yesterday, film distribution company NEW LORDS CORNER released a public notice warning all perpetrators to immediately stop the practice and contact them for mitigation.

I tried to ask for the list of affected films, channels, and producers involved, but I was informed that the parties are still handling settlements.

Respect filmmakers. Respect intellectual property. Support the industry the right way.
