There’s something that I already knew, but somehow the universe keeps bringing it back to me, possibly because forgetting it may well be detrimental to my well-being.
You see that energy and willpower you put into chasing things that really matter to you, to grow and develop yourself? If, for whatever reason, someone is out to get you (most times they don’t need a reason), they triple that willpower and will draw all bad energy from all existing universes just to try and sabotage you in every possible way known to them.
I have experienced this kind of animosity severally from different individuals, so I know how it feels being on the receiving end of such energy. It’s no wonder that my boundaries are way up there now. Getting through can only be likened to trying to break into Fort Knox.
Anyway, I’m currently witnessing something similar in my home. We recently got a new cat. We thought it was a good idea to get a companion for Mittens, since she seems lonely at most times. A small baby cat we named Miss Kitty. The day she arrived, Mittens was curious about her, tried to sniff her for a bit, followed her around for a bit, and we thought they were getting to know each other.
To our utmost surprise, Mittens has taken a great dislike to Miss Kitty, even though the little tiny kitten has done nothing to deserve all this animosity. We have enough resources to feed them both. We love both equally. There’s enough space for both to coexist. But the aggression Mittens is showing towards the little one is making it hell for her in her new home. Every now and then, she creeps up on her and claws her severally. It’s nerve-wracking for me. It has gotten to a point that Mittens wakes up and immediately starts hunting for Kitty. Her morning routine before all this included, but was not limited to, sunbathing, eating her breakfast, taking a poop, chilling in her favorite chair… She no longer does any of this. The hate simmering within her has now overridden her personal self-care. She’s no longer taking her long naps during the day, but rather dedicates this time to hunt and make life a living hell for Kitty. She sits, schemes, and watches all Kitty’s movements, waiting for a chance to pounce on her. When not being pounced on by Mittens, Kitty dedicates her time to running around our bedroom, playing with her toys, sleeping, nibbling on our toes, eating, exploring the house, and generally living her best days. Only for Mittens to pounce and ruin it all in a moment’s notice.
And, ladies and gentlemen, that’s how your haters pursue you relentlessly. They’ll drop all their commitments and dreams and concentrate on you and your life. They’ll essentially stop living their own lives while their vile dislike for you fuels them to plan and sabotage your life. And while they do this, you soar much further, and by the time they look back and realize how much time and effort they wasted in vain, it’ll be too late. The bitterness will then envelop them to become the village witch.
I bet each one of you knows a person or two like this.
