Are you Kenyan woman 50+ hunting sweet love?

Penning  my journal, a sister in her 50s asked me a tale, “Can love still sail?” My sister, let’s walk this winding trail, with thoughts I’ll unveil.

Now, back in your mid-20s, you were the pearl of the scene, the world’s gleam. Every man a hunter, scheming on your dream, speaking sweet words to catch dip into your broad beam in gleam. The chase was their game, and you had the fame.

But now, 50+? Going downhill the game’s not quite the same in dame. That heat, that thrill? It’s mellowed in life’s mill.

Darling the men you’ll get as you age have issues to wet your tissues. They are battered maybe monied but that’s it. The damage one does, is seen more clearly when he is gone.

If you’re looking for a monied man, beware Kenya’s laws have changed, all the quid in his squid he minted before you boarded ship ain’t yours. So you got to look for something more than that. A man who can chocolate companionship, & dole cruises in ship, a great option. My darling, a bitter man bitters everything including his own soup.

Women like fine wine mature & mellow well before men. The emotional intelligence of a woman is 10 years ahead of a time. Where respect is missing, disorder prevails. Your number one need from a man is respect, a bloke who won’t openly cheat on you, to say the least. A man of equal feet to live with you in sweet should be 7 to 10 years older, the good thing he doesn’t have as much energy to romp. Thats nature, argue about it till the cows come home, it won’t change nature.

Here’s the truth in tooth, sister, Kenya’s life expectancy for men is about 60 years. Many of my male peers are already planted deep in the ground, without a sound. Some lived fast, chasing love and fleeting dreams around. But here you are, strong and standing, asking, Is there love left for a woman like me?

Let me roll it into my lovely doll. The Shift After 50+, is grave but there’s still rooms to wiggle and rave. It’s about the choices you’ll make. At this age, you’ve raised your kids, filled their bellies, cleaned their cribs. Now they’re gone, leaving the nest bare, and suddenly, the house is quieter than air. No more hustle, no more bustle it’s just you, standing there. Your heart, once so busy with care, now asks if love is still out there.

Here’s the hard truth you might not want to hear: Men over 50 are fewer, and they aren’t hunting like they used to. Some of them have checked out of the game, tired of playing the same. But don’t hang up your heart just yet, there’s still room for love, if you’re patient, if you’re set. So, what are your chances in this field? Let me break it down in yield.

Exactly what types of Men will you meet at 50+ to play ball? Let’s roll the men you’ll encounter, as you step into the ring once more, wondering what life will bring.

First, there’s the divorced man, fresh out of a split. He’s seen love’s flame dim, gone through life’s grit. He’s bruised but maybe wiser, now searching for peace, not drama to increase. He’s got kids, maybe baggage too, but he’s looking for something calm, something true.

In Africa finding an officially divorced man a bit of a lie. For Africans, divorce is just a piece of paper. However, that shouldn’t knock you out, as long as he gives you more than your equal share of love, you are good to go. Once you’re in, strategize how to dominate him more. His bruised & disappointed by his “ex”, life is about competition anyway. She’ll call you all sorts of names but that doesn’t matter.

When you swim in someone’s pool, you got to remove your clothes, & when he chases you, you’ll run away naked. He’s no longer chasing excitement or thrill. If you’re after a man who’s searching for calm, for a love that’s steady, for a life that’s ready this might be your guy. Just know, he’s looking for rest, not a fiery test.

Then there’s the widower, whose heart still grieves in sorrow, but who’s ready to embrace tomorrow. He lost his love, but now he seeks a chance to find joy again, to reignite romance. He may still cling to memories of the past, so be careful this love might not last. But if he’s healed and ready, his heart could be steady. With him, you’ll find a love deep and real, but tread slow, see how he’ll feel. The only catch, you have to deal with his kids. They can be vicious, especially if he has girls, they are jealous of anyone sleeping in their mum’s bed.

Ah, then there’s the polygamous man, I dare say every Kenyan man is polygamous, but it won’t right for my public good. Shoot me anyway, its the truth. Polygamy juices our African air. He’s got wives already, maybe two or three, but he’s still looking, his heart not quite free. He wants a new wife, maybe for youth or desire, but here’s the thing, sister, this fire comes with strings. You’ll have to share his time, his heart, his space, and in this race, there’s often rivalry in place.

If you want to rate him, there’s a simple rule for your dimple. A good polygamous man is honest about his brood, a bad lies to you that you’re the only one. Thats how you judge them. If he can introduce you to the rest of his brood, he is a great solid man. Now in these days, that rare in mare. You could be his queen if you don’t mind sharing the scene. But know it’s not always easy it’s not all glitz and gleam.

Then there’s the never-married bachelor, who never jumped the broom, always lived in his own room. He’s avoided marriage like the plague, focused on career, hobbies, or his personal stage. He’s never been tied, never made to abide, but now, in his 50s, he’s wondering if it’s time to let someone by his side.

Wuod Baba’s take in your bake, avoid these cadre of men like the plague. They are most likely professional womanizers, and reek murky skeletons. Beware he’s built walls high. If you’re ready to teach him how to love, fine if you believe you will dine. But don’t expect it to be easy; he’s set in his ways, stubborn and strong. If you’re patient, you might find where you belong, but it’ll take time, and a whole lot of song.

Then we have the younger men, the lads full of energy and spark. They’re drawn to your wisdom, to your flame in the dark. They love the older woman’s grace, but know this, sister they’re running a different race. They want fun, they want thrill, but are they in it for love? Not likely still.

They’ll make you feel young, that’s for sure, but are they here for the long haul, to endure? If you’re seeking a fling, something light and fun, they’re your best bet. But if you want deep love, you might regret. The only thing these young folks are after is to fork out your money, and the pig of it, he will use in with gig with a younger lassie.

So, What’s Next for you darling?

At 50+, love is still possible, but it doesn’t arrive at your door like it used to. You’ve grown wiser, more selective, you know what you want. Whether it’s companionship to share quiet nights, or a love that lights up the twilight years, there’s still hope, there’s still cheers.

But darling here’s Wuod Baba’s advice: Be smart, be cautious, but keep your heart open wide. Life isn’t over yet, there’s still love to abide. Don’t rush, don’t settle for less, but don’t close off either. The field may be thinner, but there’s still room for a winner.

You’ve lived, you’ve learned, and now’s your time to reap the love you deserve. Just remember, not every flower you pick will bloom long. Some will wilt, but that’s the risk in love’s song.

So, my sister, step into this chapter with confidence and grace. Life isn’t done, it’s just another race. There are still daisies to pick, still sunsets to share. Love will find you again, just be aware.

For my record, there’s nobody better than a Kenyan man, at least with him you know where you stand.

Love me or hate me, it’s my truth.

Da da da…
