This year has been nothing short of transformative for Lira Kreativ Kave. What began as a simple idea — a small space where young creatives could meet, share, and express themselves — has grown into a vibrant, consistent community that continues to surprise me, inspire me, and push me to dream bigger.

Month after month we gathered. Not because we had the biggest resources or the biggest stage, but because we shared a belief: that stories matter, that young voices need room to breathe, and that creativity can shape a community. And together, we proved it.

A Community That Built Itself, Together

Looking back, what stands out most isn’t the events themselves, but the people who made them possible. The poets who showed up — sometimes nervous, sometimes confident — but always genuine. The musicians who brought soul and warmth to our evenings. The audience that kept growing, returning, and cheering loudly. The creatives who walked in once as strangers and left as part of a family.

Lira Kreativ Kave stopped being “my idea” a long time ago. It became ours — a shared space powered by collaboration, courage, and authenticity.

Partners Who Amplified the Vision

We didn’t walk this journey alone. We were supported by partners who believed in what we were building:

• Venue partners(Cafe Sterling and KaKebe Technologies ) who opened their doors to us and trusted our vision.
• Media and press teams who helped us tell our story across the region.
• Photographers (especially Brashan Photography) , filmmakers, and creatives who captured our moments beautifully.
• Friends of the arts who contributed time, ideas, and presence.

Every partnership, every collaboration, every small act of support pushed us forward.

For that, I’m truly grateful.

A Year of Successful Poetry Nights

From our earliest gatherings to the full-house evenings later in the year, each poetry night carried its own magic:

• New voices stepping onto the mic for the first time.
• Returning poets pushing their craft further.
• Raw stories shared without fear.
• Laughter, snaps, applause, and moments of deep silence that only poetry can create.

These nights became more than events — they became rituals, a monthly reminder of what is possible when a community chooses expression over silence.

Closing the Year With Hope and Momentum

As we prepare for the Lira Youth Poetry Slam, I can’t help but feel proud of how far we’ve come. Not because everything was perfect, but because everything was real. We built this together — one poem, one gathering, one brave voice at a time.

And if this year has taught me anything, it’s that Northern Uganda is ready for more.

More stories. More creative spaces. More opportunities to grow, learn, and inspire. This is just the beginning.
