In 2016, on the patio of my rented house, I held a small book-writing masterclass.
There were only three students. One of them was Joan Mugenzi.
She came looking for a way to transition from the development world into the private sector. She knew she was gifted. She knew she had a message. But she also knew that “being an encourager” was not enough to open the kinds of doors she needed.
So we worked on something bigger than a book. We worked on authority.
That session became the seed for Corporates at a Crossroads: Knowing That Your Job Isn’t Eternal And Acting on That Knowledge, a book that would go on to speak to working professionals about transition, uncertainty, and preparing for life beyond employment.
Fast forward to Thursday, 14 May 2026. I sat in a hall filled with about 250 high-value guests and watched Joan celebrate 12 years of impact. The room was filled with leaders, founders, civil society actors, and financial institutions. The keynote was delivered by NSSF CEO Patrick Ayota.
As I watched her, I became emotional because I was not just attending an event. I was witnessing a vision come full circle.
Joan said it best:
“The relationships built out of the book have birthed the current reality.”
That is why I believe so deeply in authority book positioning.
The right book can open the right room.
The right message can reach the right audience.
And when your expertise is positioned well, your book can become a credibility asset that keeps opening doors long after publication.
That is why I am excited to invite you to the Authority Book Positioning Masterclass on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at The Blue Marble Writers House in Kira.
If you are a leader, coach, founder, consultant, or expert who knows you carry a message that deserves a bigger platform, join me.
Your book may be the key to the next room.
If this speaks to you, send me a message.
