The Gazaland UOX League delivered another thrilling weekend of football on Sunday as Matchday Four produced dramatic results, two walkovers, a sensational Golden Boot performance and significant movement in the league standings. With every passing week, the competition is becoming more intense, attracting hundreds of passionate supporters and cementing its reputation as one of Uganda’s fastest growing community football leagues.
The biggest talking points came before two scheduled fixtures could be completed. League officials enforced the tournament regulations in the matches between UOX JAT FC and Luseke FC and Karoth K Kids Foundation and The Dynamos FC, awarding walkovers after the affected teams failed to comply with the competition’s reporting requirements.
According to the Gazaland UOX League regulations, every team must report at least 15 minutes before kick-off. Any team that fails to appear within 10 minutes of the scheduled start automatically forfeits the match. The defaulting team loses three points and two goals from its goal difference, while the opposing side is awarded a 2-0 victory and three points.
The enforcement of the regulations sent a clear message that the league is entering a new era where discipline, professionalism and respect for the rules are just as important as performance on the pitch.
Away from the walkover drama, fans at Grit Soccer Park witnessed another exciting round of football as clubs battled fiercely for crucial points in the championship race.
The latest league standings reflect just how competitive the season has become. Royal Army FC remain at the top of the table with 19 points from eight matches, having won six games, drawn one and lost one. Xtreme FC occupy second place with 17 points, while Kababik FC and UOX JAT FC are tied on 16 points each. The Dynamos FC complete the top five with 15 points, keeping themselves firmly in contention for the title.
Just behind them are Luseke FC with 13 points, followed by Muvubuka FC and Titan Era FC on 12 points each. Retweets FC are ninth with 11 points, while UOX Elites FC and Phenoms FC each have 10 points.
With only four points separating the top five teams, the race for the Gazaland UOX League title remains wide open.
The Golden Boot race also produced one of the standout stories of the weekend. Karx of The Dynamos FC stole the headlines after scoring a brilliant hat trick, taking his tally to 12 league goals and extending his lead at the top of the scoring charts. His outstanding finishing continues to make him one of the league’s most dangerous forwards.
His closest challenger is Abbey Kusemererwa of Kababik FC, who has scored eight goals and remains determined to close the gap as the race for the Golden Boot intensifies.
Despite Karx’s remarkable goal scoring form, The Dynamos FC have struggled to find consistency this season. The team’s performances have been affected by the prolonged absence of several key defenders, forcing them to concede goals at crucial moments. While their attack continues to impress, defensive weaknesses have denied them valuable points in the title race.
Speaking after the matches, League Chairman
Muzzukulu Wa Kisolo (Doni) urged all participating teams to respect the tournament regulations.
“I encourage every team to arrive on time for every match. These regulations apply equally to everyone, and they will continue to be enforced. The league has now entered a serious stage of competition.”
Doni also highlighted the league’s rapid growth, revealing that more than 500 supporters now attend matches every Sunday at Grit Soccer Park.
“Every Sunday we receive over 300 fans who come to support their teams. The atmosphere continues to improve every week. We also call upon our headquarters and potential sponsors to invest in this league because it has become one of the leading community football competitions in Uganda. Our audience continues to grow, both at the venue and across social media.”
As the season progresses, the Gazaland UOX League continues to raise the standard of community football through competitive matches, passionate supporters and stronger enforcement of its regulations. Sunday’s events demonstrated that success in the league will depend not only on talent, but also on discipline, organisation and consistency.
With the title race tightening, the Golden Boot battle intensifying and supporters turning out in large numbers every weekend, the Gazaland UOX League is proving that community football in Uganda has never been more exciting.
