Building African Brands Podcast: Monetizing Content on an African Storytelling Platform (Muwado)

Roland Byagaba, who is a Ugandan media entrepreneur, began his journey as a storyteller. This then saw him creating a platform for storytellers, and a platform where African storytellers could get paid without the hassles they tend to go through to receive payments from international platforms and publications.   The journey itself has been a long one, but the focus has remained the same which is to have a place that shares African stories while finding ways for the storytellers to be compensated. I had a conversation with Roland and he shared about

  • His journey in building Muwado, a platform for content creators to monetize their content
  • The need for more localized solutions tailored to the needs of Africans
  • The different ways content creators monetize on Muwado, and how African brands can advertise on the platform.

Listen to Episode 58 (and 59) of my podcast Building African Brands to learn from Roland’s journey as he and his team work to help African content creators monetize their content.
