IOM Uganda is bringing the Global Migration Film Festival to Kampala!
On the 5th of December, IOM Uganda and Alliance Française Kampala join forces and present “Not Just Football”.
“It’s a lot more than a game.”
This team of young Darfur refugees join together to play international football at the VIVA World Cup and represent Darfur
around the world. Their journey takes them from the dusty refugee camps in Chad to Iraq, Sweden, and the U.S., where they use the power of teamwork and positivity to show the world that they may
be refugees, but they are first and foremost football players.

IOM, the UN Migration Agency, launched The Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF) in 2016. GMFF features films and documentaries that capture the promise and challenges of migration and the unique contributions that migrants make to their new communities. The goal of the festival is to pave the way for greater discussion around one of the greatest phenomenon of our time.
