CELEBRATION OF UGANDAN FILMS

Tens and Hundreds of people continue to flock cinemas every evening to watch the Ugandan films which are being screened during the 2-week Uganda Film Festival screenings. These screenings started on Monday, 26th May and will be running until 5th June to be followed by the award gala on 6th June at UICT Nakawa.

The screenings are happening in 5 selected cinemas, including Cinemax Acacia Mall, Cinemax Arena Mall, Cinemax Metroplex Mall, Numax Cinema – Victoria Mall, and EMT Cinema – Ham Towers, and all total, up to 55 screenings.

The films being screened have been selected from the outstanding batch of films submitted to #UFF2025, and most of them, like Nkinzi, Fatal, Speak, Kimote, and Two Paths, are nominated for top awards.

In the first four days (Monday to Thursday) of the first 20 screenings, a total of over 600 people have been to the cinemas to catch the Ugandan films. The figures will surely be more by 5th June.

Go watch the films and support the filmmakers.

A fraction of the ticket money you pay actually goes directly to the producers of the films. So go put some money in your producers’ pockets.
