Here is a short poem I wrote about politics in Uganda:
Politics in Uganda
A land of beauty and diversity But also of struggle and adversity Where the people yearn for democracy But face a leader who clings to autocracy came to power with a promise of change But now he seems out of touch and strange He has ruled for more than three decades And has no intention of leaving the stage
He faces a challenge from a pop star Who speaks for the youth and the poor He has a vision of a new Uganda But he is met with violence and horror
The election is a test of the nation’s will Will it be free, fair and peaceful? Or will it be marred by fraud and bloodshed? Only time will tell what lies ahead
