Faith reasons
Hebrews 11:19 (AMP)
For he reasoned that God was able to raise [him] up even from among the dead. Indeed in the sense that Isaac was figuratively dead [potentially sacrificed], he did [actually] receive him back from the dead.
Did you know that God actually encourages a certain kind of reasoning with Him?
Let’s consider this verse for a moment.
Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)
Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.
This verse is an invitation from God to us to come and consider what He is able to do to our sin because of the finished work of Jesus.
It’s only as we renew our minds to this, that we will trust Christ for salvation from sin.
The Bible is a record of what God is able to do, has done and will do.
Romans 12:2 gives us an invitation to have our minds renewed to that which God’s word says He can do, He has done and He will do.
It’s only as we do this, that faith will rise in our hearts. (Romans 10:17)
Psalms 103:3 forexample is an invitation to us to consider how He not only forgives sin but also heals all diseases.
All diseases brother and sister
3 John 2 is a suggestion from God that He wants us to prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper.
Faith considers that God is able to do this, that He says He can do.
Faith reasons that if men can do some great things, God can surely do some really incredible things.
I believe this is the kind of reasoning that Jesus was inviting his listeners to, in this lesson in Matthew 6 (I encourage you to read the whole chapter)
Matthew 6:26,28,30
Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?
And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith?
Faith reasons
By faith we reason that if Doctors can perform a bone marrow transplant, how about God?
If Doctors can do a heart transplant, how about God?
If Science can help a childless couple have a child, how about God?
If a drug can kill a micro organism, how about the power that raised Jesus from the dead?
If a man without God can work hard and have a net worth equal to all the annual budgets of African countries put together, how about the man with God?
That’s the reasoning of faith?
I commited to it a few years ago and I am seeing some incredible things happen…and I am trusting God to see more…
Because God is not dead.
You, too can commit to this journey of reasoning by faith.
Whatever you are going through right now… however impossible things look…
You can have that moment where you say to yourself,
‘Wait a second, How about God?’
May be the woman with an issue of blood had this moment…(Mark 5:25-34)
And she was healed by the end of the day.
