Prior to writing this book, The sermon series “Relationship Goals” by the funky, visibly humble and deeply relatable pastor Michael Todd of Transformation Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the U.S. became a viral internet sensation.
Perhaps it is Mike Todd’s energy, his charming personality, real and honest preaching style, his fashion sense, or his relevance that made the series go viral; except that many preachers embody those attributes of personality, theology and delivery. He has also preached other sermons in his same style and yet the videos of the Relationship goals sermons just keep raking in views in the millions.
Maybe the numbers simply tell the story of millions of people seeking answers. I know I definitely was seeking answers when YouTube first recommended the video to me, after which I watched a large part of the series. Let us just say I got most of the answers I sought in Mike Todd’s gentle but potent message.
This book was written to expand the reach of this message to everyone at every stage of a relationship: Single, single and content, single and searching, recently broken up, separated, divorced, divorced 3 times, married, living together, co-parenting, name what you will. The author writes humbly, openly and honestly; drawing from his own experiences which are refreshingly relatable. What does stand out most is the passion to guide everyone along the path to obtain what we all ultimately seek- a fulfilled relationship life that extends across one’s spiritual life, mate, business partnerships, friendships, family and community.
Rating: 10/10. This book is amazing. Give yourself the chance to learn a little bit more about yourself and about the relationships you want to pursue.
