I stumbled upon this beautiful Dorothy Parker poem

A Very Short Song

Once, when I was young and true,
Someone left me sad-
Broke my brittle heart in two;
And that is very bad.
Love is for unlucky folk,
Love is but a curse.
Once there was a heart I broke;-
And that, I think, is worse.

(people . . . I know, I died as well)

Whilst I was still enjoying the marvel that Dorothy is, I received a book I used to Scribble poetry into during my formative years, this is an excerpt from one I gave the distinctive title HE DIDN’T ASK FOR MORE (clearly I knew nothing about being subtle)

Some nights I wake up knowing that he is fretful
Half way across the world in another woman’s arms
I toss and turn and wait for him to sleep . . . !
I then curl up like a fist protesting death and thinking of things I have long since given away.

I gave up the quick poetic scribble for the long drudgery that is life . . . but seeing my words, my thoughts, my pains and clearly my aches on paper this past week has unearthed something in me yet again, and I want to write, I want to believe that writing it all down will make things easier, my goodness I want to dream again (professionally if you may). Taking the book entirely in, I think that writing will come at a cost, I see that the poems I love the most now are of the loneliest and saddest kind. It’s a strange place to be, but isn’t art worth it?

Anyhow in the spirit of spreading some beauty into this world, I give you all Hannah Brencher. My Goodness she is an amazingly beautiful woman who’s dedicated her life to writing love letters and leaving them for strangers to find. (Ingenious) not emails by the way proper handwritten letters, that are full of kindness and hope and light. There have been days when I could have used some kind words even from a stranger  . . . anything at all, maybe that’s why I am completely enamored by Hannah and her work. She’s fascinating, enjoy.

We have talked about true greatness in this world before here. Well,  I believe that Hannah is truly great in her own right, follow her blog, she’ll brighten you up one random morning. I adore her and I respect what she is doing . . . love, light and blessings Miss Hannah B. Love Light and Blessings.
