Hosea on set with Tom Cruise
Since I posted about this Ugandan and his recent Emmy nomination, it sparked widespread interest and many people have been asking me: ‘Who is Hosea Ntaborwa?’ Behind the impressive credits and international projects is a deeply inspiring story of resilience, passion, and cinematic excellence.
At just 16 years old, Hosea relocated to the United Kingdom, where he began to rebuild his life. He graduated with a degree in music technology in 2009 and over the years, he carved a path that has led him into the heart of the global film and television industry.
In 2015, Hosea’s potential was recognised when he became one of just 16 recipients of the Prince William Scholarship in Film, Television and Games, a prestigious program supported by BAFTA and Warner Bros. He went on to study at the National Film and Television School (NFTS), one of the most respected institutions for film training in the world.
Now a proud BAFTA Academy Scholar, Hosea has accumulated over a decade of experience working in feature films and high-end TV dramas (HETV), specializing as a Boom Operator and 1st Assistant Sound on major productions.
His growing list of international credits reads like a blockbuster lineup. He has contributed to:
- The White Lotus Season 3 (earned him an Emmys nomination)
- Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Dead Reckoning
- Spider-Man: Far From Home
- Thor: Love and Thunder
- The Conjuring: Last Rites
- I May Destroy You
Hosea’s journey to triumph is a testament to the power of talent, determination, and opportunity. As an Emmy-nominated professional, he stands not only as a rising star in global film sound production but also as a source of inspiration to aspiring creatives across Africa and the diaspora.
Keep your eyes on this remarkable filmmaker, his story is just beginning to make noise. Congratulations Hosea, may you keep winning.
