#TheUgandanFarmer: A Remarkable Visit to James Ocan’s Four-Acre Model Farm!

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to visit James Ocan in Paicho Sub County, and what an inspiring experience it was! James is a dedicated farmer who has embraced the Four-Acre Model of farming, an initiative by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni aimed at transforming lives and landscapes.

The Four-Acre Model doesn’t just mean farming; it’s about ending food insecurity, promoting new livelihoods, changing mindsets, and harnessing our land’s potential for massive production.

James is a shining example of this vision, with his four acres bustling with life and abundance. He’s growing a wide variety of crops and fruits, from bananas, sunflowers, and maize to avocado, jackfruits, oranges, pawpaw, and mangoes.

But what’s even more incredible is his dedication to supporting fellow farmers, especially young individuals venturing into agriculture.

Our chat about farming in Northern Uganda and the Four-Acre Model was truly enlightening. James’ commitment is an inspiration to us all, and I can’t wait to share more about this remarkable journey with you.
