#MuwadoLoveLetter Missing You Doesn’t Even Come Close

Yesterday, I didn’t ask you where you were or when you would be back.  You will get back when you get back, though I wish it was today.  Tomorrow at the latest.  I sit and dream sometimes.  I will get a call and it would be from your Ivorian number.  I would know then that you were back in the country.  And so with me.

Today, I broke my promise, though I had promised myself no such thing.  I asked you whether you were still in the village.  My heart sunk a little when you said yes.  I wish for the day you would be in Bobo, because then I would know you were getting a bit closer to me.  Because once when we were chatting, you told me that once you got to Bobo, you would spend a night or two there, then you would be on your way to Côte d’Ivoire.  So, I need you in Bobo, even though whether it be Bobo, Ouaga or Banfora, or wherever else you may be in that land of the righteous – Burkina Faso – I need you in that apartment in Abidjan.  We will eat, drink red wine and make love.

So I say, “See you soon”, hoping it would really be soon.  In the meantime, I say, “Je t’aime, amour.”
