#Stories4Health                                           The Corona virus Challenge and what we ought to do.                                                     As of today, the pandemic corona virus has infected more than 6.9 million people and killed more than 400,000 people across the globe. Why, the majority of these are from United State of America and Italy. The number of African countries who have reported confirmed cases has increased tremendously. Although, the majority of covid-19 deaths occur in patients who are elderly or have existing medical conditions, such as heart disease and diabetes. Children, on the other hand, appear to show few or no symptoms. The covid-19 epidemic is a threat for every country that must act with speed, scale and clear minded determination. The government of Nigeria should mobilize their plans, coordinating every part of the government, not just the health ministry – security, diplomacy, finance, commerce, transport, trade, information and more – the whole government should be involved. ‘’It is also important for the government to carry out tests on them. Why, the whole world should continue with personal hygiene – frequent washing of hands with soap and water, covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing etc. additionally, all travelers are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travels to and from countries with confirmed covid-19 cases and for the recommendation of screening at the international airports and seaports, contact tracing, community education and correct information dissemination. Meanwhile, each country needs to continue with its precautionary measures to ensure that those infected are treated properly while those quarantined are monitored. Furthermore, there is need for the federal government to ensure that the 14 days isolation period is mandatory with proper supervision. In which, we take a moment to remember all those on the frontlines, they are heroes. All the nurses, doctors, cleaners, health care providers, and customer service representatives. We tip our hat off to you all.
