Phew. Took a while, but I’m finally back β older, wiser, hotter… and someone’s mummy ()! Three years out of public life. Feels like long enough. Turns out that healing from a lifetime of trauma and dysfunction requires a great deal of time, space, and stoic focus. Rebuilding takes an even longer time.
It takes a special kind of devoted introspection to search the depths of your core to try and uncover the stories behind your most bizarre quirks that you keep tripping over in your quest for a good, healthy, joyful and balanced life. It demands even more to then begin to recover from them, one after the other, after you find them.
Through the intricate phases of transformation and evolution of your soul, you get to design and determine the new tapestry you want to weave for your life at the next chapter β a truly rare, once-in-a-lifetime chance.
It’s an uphill battle. The path is winding and dark, littered by lost connections and falling relations. But if you strap in determinedly and can clasp onto a little light in your heart, sometime (likely after a great deal of patience), you arrive at the edge of the tunnel of your haunting, tormented past, and the whole world opens before you.
The result of this hard, tough, gruelling work is, thankfully, automatically a version of you that you like a whole lot better than your previous self. A more authentic self that feels true to your individual uniqueness. The reward for your persistence, bravery and brutal honesty with yourself is the opportunity for fresh starts and new beginnings.
Arguably, however, the greatest of the rewards from the journey to wholeness just might be an ego that is all-round smaller and less threatening, plus a clarity of purpose, direction and zeal for life that is unmatched by anything you have experienced before.
Which opportunities will you take in your new ego? Who will you become? How do you behave? What do you spend your time on? Where does your energy flow? What would greatness look like on you? What would love do in your life?
Happy 2024. May this be the season you tap into your own healing, growth and transformation… If you haven’t already. See you soon in the land of the brave and hopeful, if you dare.
Cheers to a good life!
