Give me Biblical faith.

I want a faith experience aligned with scripture’s illustration of it -not the safe, watered-down version that gives the appearance and comfort of possessing faith, but lacking its potency.

This is the version defined by surface-level dippers- people for whom their faith starts and ends with their religious name, for whom God’s word is not their food and for whom His laws and standards are negotiable suggestions.

People who claim God but live like He does not exist.

Neither do I want to be given a limited view of God’s power and possibilities from people who consider it normal to have God alongside their crystals, strange ideologies, philosophies and -isms. Anyone who can put God alongside these, by this very act proves that they do not know Him.

When I read my Bible, I see a God who saves, heals and provides. I see a God who purges us of sin -breaking off of us chains of addiction, transforming us from brokenness, and producing the fruit of righteousness in our lives.

I see a God who dignifies. One who lifts from the depths of shame and despair and honours; a God who prospers without adding sorrow to a man’s prosperity. I see a God who transforms a man’s lived experience.

Give me Biblical faith.
