Hola,
It’s been a minute since our last event rant and my oh my…the silence was the loudest. Salutations out of the way, I have a mesmerizing experience for y’all. So, one day when I attended one of the events we yap about (not going to mention which one), something astonishing happened to me and trust me when I say it was the first time ever in my life that it ever happened. There was this FINE beau wearing a skin tight skirt, cropped top and pair of classic Jordans, she was definitely an A’ lister. One-foot infront of the other she approached me and just asked one question, “Going home with anyone tonight?”. Oh Heavenly Father, thank you for the daily bread is all I could say at that moment when I froze Infront of her like an antelope facing a pair of headlights. Nonetheless, before I spill any embarrassing details of my adventure, let’s first dive into this week’s checklist;

Ever gotten yourself out of a situation with only your words and your wit, without even having to lift a single finger. Me neither, but here’s the plus side; we get to watch and listen to some peeps use their wit to get your smiles stretching accompanied with fine tunes from people that know how to manipulate sound waves. I think I’m being too scientific; Ladies and Gents I’m yapping about the latest edition of the Wild n Witty. Words have a way of making or breaking any situation and in this case, they will break the ceiling at Shisha Nyama Village.
Talking about words making or breaking a situation, back in high school I watched a play titled “Burdens” and witnessed how writers create scenarios with words and the audience paints a picture in their heads. And as always, there are some that have never experienced this so say less and try out SHAME ON YOUR HAND. It is a play written by well-known actor and writer PHILIP LUSWATA who has proven his creative prowess and acting acumen over the years in projects like Makutano Junction and Girl in a Yellow Jumper. Plays and Theatres are an ace for that “off screen” experience. 😉

Mentioning the word “play” reminded me of how my brothers used to thrash me during family game nights. It’s like they would all decide to gang up against me, until the day all that changed…when I threw out all the board games and no one knew what happened to them. Shhh…that will be our little secret. Anyway, BIGHT OF BENIN RESTAURANT has something up their sleeves for that weekend family day out and I’m mumbling about FAMILY GAME ON DAY. All board and outdoor games will be available and hey, don’t feel sad that your family is going to crush you again…I too will be using this day to fully avenge all the trauma my brothers put me through all that time, they will never know what hit them. 🙂

Work without…music, yes music not “play” makes one a slug performer. You can report me to the English monarch for altering the phrase, I’ll be in my room parching up my hollow socks. Think of this; isn’t it wonderful that everyone globally can not do any work without music or at least singing a song verbally or in their heads. In Uganda, in every ten people seven sing Nigerian or West African music, not a proven statistic but one can tell by how big the Nigerian music industry is. To the point that Uganda is used to taste if any Nigerian artist is a hit.
More proof, let’s talk MAGIXX who is a Nigerian singer and song writer known for his hybrid fusing approach of trap, Afropop, dancehall and R&B with hits like Problem, Shaye, Colors and Loyal. That’s how talented these folks are hands down. The EastSide Tour has a showdown for you with MAGIXX and BAYANNI headlining and, curtain raising by our very own industry wave shakers like Joshua Baraka, Vinka and Denesi to mention a few.

Events like these are the reason why miracles happen to people like me. As I was saying, after the angelic beau asked if she could go with me, I froze and could not utter a word due to overwhelming disbelief that an A’ stamper could actually ask an “F9” like me, to go home with me. No sooner had I opened my sealed lips to air out a “YES”, than another A’ stamper (wallet heavy kind) swopped in like Superman and snatched the pretty birdie from me. I have never been both heart broken and ecstatic at the same time. People, I had actually been looked at and approached by someone a thousand times way out of my league.
Wherever you are cropped top lady, I’ll find you.
But until then, I remain…
Yours truly,
–ThiWordknight–
