[SPOILERS] This documentary is only about 1½ hours long yet I’ve spent over 3 hours (in between naps and chitchats) to complete it.
This documentary has been pushed in my algorithm from Monday until today felt like let me just get it over with.
I was 20 minutes in when I had to pick a delivery. I checked Facebook and saw a hint about who it was that was bullying this kid. I’d not yet mastered the faces of the people in the documentary; and just when I was returning to the house a video popped up suggesting who the exact person is.
Now picture this.
You’re 14 years old. Only kid in your two-parent household. You’ve got this boy who likes you. Your parents and his parents get together because you two like each other. It’s a whole happy family until you start getting text messages from an unknown number. The person behind the messages doesn’t like the idea of you dating your boyfriend and is willing to take him over because you cannot give him what he wants. Your parents and his head to the police and school leadership to have this ironed out but no answers are found.
The person continues to cause so much friction that you two have to break up so that the person gets what they want and you two find peace.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there. The harassment escalates even to the point of the person pushing you to kïll yourself before they do. Meanwhile, your ex-boyfriend is also still getting harassed by the unknown person. When he gets another girl, she’s also harassed. He has to leave her because he doesn’t want another girl to experience what you have to contend with.
It’s over 18 months, investigations are taken to a higher level and it is established that your own mother is the person behind the cyberbullying.
