TUNAENDELEA KUSONGA MBELE

Hola,

It is a brand-new day, brand new week and the genesis of fresh beginnings. It’s been quite a thrilling weekend hopefully y’all had the same, especially owing to the fact that a Lunar eclipse a.k.a a Blood Moon was experienced within the dying hours of the weekend. Truth be told, when I was little and heard the words “Blood Moon” for the first time, I assumed the Moon would be covered in blood. Scary, right!!

But oh well, just a child’s mind doing what it does best; create imaginations. That aside, let’s get into it for this week, shall we? 🙂

In Africa, culture and tradition are held to the highest standard and the heritage is passed on from generation to generation. This in the due course of time (in the long run to be precise) contributes greatly to preservation of cultural heritage. The Karamojong are an ethnic community and indigenous residents of the North-eastern Ugandan region in areas like Kaabong, Kotido, Moroto, Abim and Napak to mention a few. When it comes to cultural heritage, the Karamojong are among the top ethnicities in Uganda that take cultural preservation very seriously. If you doubt what I’m yapping about, then how about they just showcase some tradition to you at the KARAMOJA CULTURAL FESTIVAL. You know what this whispers; “road-trip”. 😉

There’s something about Urban Gospel music that just gets everyone on their feet and singing along. The ear-catching beats, the soul touching lyrics and the melodic voices combined into one culminate into an Urban Gospel hit that you’d blissfully leave on repeat. Hits like; Giant Killer, Guide My Way, Victory, Chikangabwe and Fearless to mention a few will be rocking the airwaves at the ALIVE IN THE PARK sherehe at the MILLENNIUM PARK, LOGOGO. Come witness the power of fine melodies on 12th.

Cyndi Lauper once said, “Girls just wanna have fun”, and dear ladies, the perfect time has presented itself. THE ALCHEMIST has dedicated 13th September to the ladies who just want to go out, scream to the top of their voices and dance like no one is watching. All this without a stranger interrupting by “asking for your number”, y’all know what I mean. On the other hand, let’s agree on one thing; all ladies naturally hate being underdressed for the occasion, so Ladies, get those dancing shoes, throw on some denim on that body and hit the dancefloor. Mind you; the atmosphere already has Jeans & Heels floating through, impatiently waiting. Bottom line, girls just wanna have fun.

There is a misconception that some people out here carry; “You cannot workout (exercise) and have fun at the same time”. Well, actually you can. I know a number of people that dance while having a workout session, yes, in the middle of those sessions is a small second break that is assigned to dropping a dance move…at least most do. Still doubting, try the KLA-EBB monthly run slated for 14th of this month. Get those blues on (dress code), sign up and hit the streets come D-day.

Regardless of all the fun times we have, there are others that have taken months or even years without revisiting the “fun aisle”. For that matter, I dedicate the closure of this article to WORLD PEACE. I pray that the suppressors can turn things around and end the violations on the suppressed for a brighter and better tomorrow.

Until next time, I remain…

Yours truly,

-ThiWordknight-
