Globally the icons that govern the communities and give it power through their industrious and creative being are being dumped into a pot of no ideas and turned into useless containers in their localities yet the depiction is not being manifested.
In accordance to www.un.org,1.2 billion people are between 15 and 24 years old making up 16% of the global population and this is projected to grow by 7% annually. Narrowing to the case of Uganda, it has a population estimate of the youth being 7, 310, 386 aged 15-24 with a 4.5% unemployment rate of the youth contrary to the world standards of 3.4/3.5%.
It pours worry into the hearts of the judicious when the actions of the youth are being inspected and the community gains meaning from them.
With their fresh and innovative minds, young people are driving Change in entrepreneurship and technology fostering a social diversity and modelling the ground to fit the world class standards.
As the back bone of our country, young people possess imense energy, multiple creativity and outstanding determination.
The phrase “the young people can also do” is not just a slogan but a strong reminder that the youth can impact changes when their ideas are valued and are not used less.
A community where the youth dominates in governance is all I advocate for.
