The Most Essential Aspects of Life Are Not Taught in Institutions

Life’s most critical components, the very foundations upon which our existence relies, cannot be learned through formal education. There are no institutions or programs that offer degrees or certifications in being a mother, father, or guardian. These roles are learned through life’s experiences and natural processes.

What defines a person’s ability to be a good parent or family member? Is it education, passion, or something inherent? I firmly believe that passion supersedes experience in many aspects of life. A mother’s intuition, for instance, is not something that can be found in textbooks; it stems from the heart.

I recall a recent encounter where I was asked to undertake a task I had never attempted before. My initial response was hesitation, citing my lack of experience. However, the person who asked me to take on the task looked at me and said, “You can do it.” When I reiterated my concerns about not having the necessary experience, he replied, “You’ve accomplished many things without prior experience. Where did the pioneers in various fields gain their experience?”

This conversation made me realize that passion and innate ability are often more important than education or experience. The most effective individuals are those driven by a genuine passion for their work, rather than just relying on their credentials.

When I’m looking to employ someone, I prioritize passion and ability over experience. I firmly believe that the qualities that truly matter in life, such as empathy, compassion, and creativity, cannot be taught in a classroom. They come from within, and it’s these innate qualities that make us who we are.
