The first time I fell in love – A poem
Of course I was nervous. Scared
Paid more attention to the feeling we shared
Than to the people who stared.
It would last forever, I thought
But forever became the times we fought
And I was only loved in installments
When I’m fine, she’s not
When she’s fine, I’m not
This must be funny– to you!
but I laugh at it too
then cry when that specific part hits me
Where we take shifts of heartbreak…
She laughs at me when it hurts most
And when her happiness is lost
I can’t help but return a laugh
I’m being happy, not tough!!
We grew in love to give ourselves company
Promised to share the money
But all we share is loneliness
And aloneness.
