THE CHECKLIST

Hola,

It’s been pretty wet for the past couple days-weeks, the weekend itself was slippery. Despite all the H2O showdown of mother nature, I managed to learn one thing and that’s how to swim. Kampala streets of late demand swimming skills at least basic ones to get you from point A to point B without having to “sip” some. For that let’s first dive in to this week’s checklist, what has landed on our desk;

Mental Health is a core to one’s individual welfare, and that cannot be denied for a fact. Decline in mental health can lead to a number of scenarios like memory loss and unstable or inconsistent mortar functionality. Social sciences dictate that humans are inherently benevolent, however, it’s the institutions that corrupt human nature. That being said; do not let your boss steal your happiness, do not let your better half ruin it either. Visit your favourite rolex kafunda and order for a pack of happiness with nyanya mbiisi  or better yet, go for the The Roundabout Mental Health sessions at Alliance Française Kampala. Tell a friend to tell a friend, no man’s an island.

Speaking about mental health, did you know that you can actually be experiencing depression and not even be aware of the situation. Yes, it is possible. You could be experiencing laziness streaks for 2 weeks, day in day out and not know that you’re actually in a depression state. Changes in appetite or sleep patterns are silent symptoms of depression. But worry not, WAGWIS has the perfect solution for you, KUMANYA GANA FEST. Going out and having a good time with friends or alone is actually one of the ways to out beat depression, back for yet another funxciting edition the fest is here to rock the air waves, fill your cups and put smiles on those faces with unforgettable memories to create and, unwind.

It goes without saying some people as well, find their happiness in watching shows; series, sitcoms, comedy shows or the ones that trigger the adrenaline rush of a person carrying another and slamming them to the ground. Boy oh boy…wrestling, peeps…wrestling. When I was little, my younger brother and I found our happiness sometimes acting out WWE matches in the bedroom with pillows as chairs. If you’re no stranger to the concept of sibling revelry, you can guess how that would always end up. Back to the point, there’s a new sport in town that is grabbing the attention of the unsuspected; soft wrestling. Peeps, the SGW MUD MANIA is a better way to put it. If you happen to land on videos of Ugandans throwing at each other in a mud puddle, imagine seeing it in RealityD (not 3D). Get that adrenaline pumped, MUKONO has a showdown for you.

Mother nature is known for being serene with a tranquil atmosphere. Such conditions are known to relax the mind and ease up tensions be it emotional or mental. UGANDA is known to be called the PEARL OF AFRICA for a number of reasons and its share of mother nature is one of them. The wild has a variety of plant and animal species to offer for admiration. One way to affirm the truths behind the name; the Pian Upe & Kidepo Valley excursion. A 3 night get away in the PEARL OF AFRICA wild, now that’s a good old fashioned mental health treat. 😉

Growing up playing in water was a menta treat for me and thus, inevitably one of my first swimming lessons ever in life was how to dive. That was one hell of a painful lesson to learn. The feeling of water slapping your chest is living rent free in my head to this day. I hope my swimming coach reads this and goes easy on me in this week’s lessons…eh my Lord. (You completed the expression in your head, didn’t you?)

Until next time, I remain…

Yours truly,

ThiWordknight
