THE BROKEN COLLEGE.
In the ancient days there lived a Palace of redemption, a Palace of understanding, a Palace of academic excellence and a Palace of Faith coupled with a lot of holistic manners which initiated the legacies and jotted histories of the pioneers.
In 1953,the RIP Father Cifaldi Francis commenced the developmental idea of raising a great and tremendous college in the heart of Koboko and named it St. Charles Lwanga college with non comparable structures of modern world , which became the pride of the constituency, the region, the nation and East Africa at large. The main slogan “where there is the will, there is the way” speaks for its self in many aspects of academics, sports, debate, leadership and spirituality.
In the 1986 civil war, many of the ruling government soldiers by then camped in the great college being the only comfortable zone at that moment. Their influence resulted into the the breakdown of the beautiful infrastructures of the college, every single estate of the college was looted, learning stopped and the by then beautiful and great college became a pool of rubbish, a din of no sense, a pit of gabbage not because it intended but because it became a victim of circumstances.
Now children in the college are struggling bipping through the windows and attending lessons in filfy class rooms, sleeping in karrel standard dormitories, low standard laboratory with limited apparatus, a substandard library all because they feel their future matters . Oh what a broken college.Yet even before Uganda got independence you were settled, where is your fate.Woe to the country we live in that non pays attention to the bad done in the past.
In a bid to revitalise the past glory, the Mighty Okenyi Francis is a star in playing his role as a catalyst in the run unfortunately the past breakings are less recognised. What if I and you table, won’t he become a champion.
A compensated Lwanga is all I advocate for.
