SWEET TOOTH

Hola,

It’s yet another week of chasing the bag and dealing with each and everything life throws at you (the good and the ugly), hoping the bag you’re chasing did not train with Usain Bolt…ha-ha. Nonetheless, in everything you do I’d recommend laying it out in prayer before you execute, you’ll be amazed with the outcome 😉 . With that being said, let’s get into what this week’s end holds for us;

I remember in one of our previous posts I hinted on Uganda being baptized as the PEARL OF AFRICA. One of the major reasons for that baptism is Uganda’s natural beauty being uplifted by mother nature; the various flora and fauna species, waterfalls, hot springs, volcanic plugs to mention a few. Well, ROOTS & ROUTES Tourism Dinner is here to celebrate with you 30 years of tourism excellence in the Pearl of Africa. Embracing the richness of mother nature in the Matooke Republic and its (Uganda) diversified cultural heritage, so Ladies and Gentlemen, get those suits dry cleaned and those dinner dresses steamed for all routes lead to MESTIL HOTEL on 17th October.

Nevertheless, when you talk about tourism, so many things come into mind; culture, mother nature, history and culinary wonders to mention a few. Let’s focus on the culinary realm, one of Uganda’s famous treats is the Rolex (the one you eat, not the one you wear). A delicacy that majorly involves chapati and eggs, other things added are at the chef’s will. Culinary delights in Uganda are of a broad range, but there is one section that snitches out the beings with “sweet teeth”. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, then take into consideration that the term “sweet tooth” is loosely used to refer to those that have a never-ending desire for sweet treats like candy and cake. Well, this section is called the pastry section, and on 18th October across the NILE RESORT, there is a “sweet tooth” gathering for the CAKE PICNIC. “SAVOR SWEETNESS UNDER THE SUN”, I do not know about y’all, but I have my plastic spork ready for this one.

While we’re on the topic of “sweet teeth”, there is a part of it that maybe under looked. I do believe every being has a sweet tooth, but the definition varies from individual to individual; the ones in for candy and pastries, then there are those in for some fine wine or whiskey. The latter calibre has a broad fan base, henceforth, the JACK EFFECT is here to satisfy that type of sweet tooth if you belong to that category. Featuring some of Uganda’s big spin maestros like DJ Roja and DJ Kasbaby, JACK DANIEL’S and THRONES LOUNGE have a good vibe session waiting for y’all on 18th October.

On the next episode of “Sweet Tooth”, we dive into the world of cultural delights like ghee, eshabwe, malewa, malwa and enturire. OWEITU OMUUKA is a cultural festival that showcases the cultural wonders of the ethnicities that settled around the Kigezi region in Western Uganda. One of the cultural wonders that has a relatively big fan base is the local brew Enturire. Yes, my “sweet tooth” colleagues that love a good brew and good vibes, this festival is for you. 😉

Amidst the good times, we condole with those in sad times; our brothers and sisters in neighbouring Kenya are mourning the loss of their former Prime Minister and former Presidential aspirant RAILA AMOLO ODINGA (a moment of silence). May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Until next time, I remain…

Yours truly,

ThiWordknight
