Oc-To-bar

Hola,

It’s that time of the year, when all you think about is the end of the year and the festivities that tag along with it. The time when weekends come faster than your pay cheque…if you know what I mean. The season when every last three letters of the remaining months spell out “happiness” :). Don’t believe…let’s get right into it;

Ever wondered why marathons are a thing now; besides the health benefits, some do really love to take in the scenery while having a kilometres’ stroll…ha-ha (just kidding). But here’s the thing; marathons are considered as a good practice of Corporate Social Responsibility, in other words, giving back to the community. As the Matooke Republic will be celebrating her Independence Day on the 9th of October, 2025, there will be a KLA-EBB Run that’s offering a finisher medal for participants and breakfast (my favourite part). Wipe that mud off those running shoes, and get ready for the calorie burn.

When you’re done running and stretching on the 9th, there is an opportunity to taste your workout results on the dance floor at the AFRO MIGRATION FESTIVAL (yells “Oh yeeah!”)One of the things that makes one an African; is the ability to connect with mother-nature, one way to achieve that is by embracing the natural water element. AFRO MIGRATION has a fun way for y’all to try to achieve that on the banks of River Nile, from the 10th to the 12th at the NILE NEST RESORT JINJA.

Caution: If you’re a vegan, do not read this next one. (Just keep scrolling) 🙂

Moving on, if you have a knack for tasty meat, then boy oh boy I have something for you. The BBQ FEST is manning the grills for this weekend, I can already smell the aromas. Soft, tender, juicy, tasty mouth-watering choma up for grabs at the VENNIE SUITES-MUYENGA. Accompanied by good vibes, good music and vibe setters (drinks), the 11th of Oc-to-bar is giving wild BBQ vibes. Don’t let FOMO win. 😉

Uganda has entered a political campaign season, and with it comes the good and the bad. Not to sound political, but it’s the reality of the matter. Human rights are natural universal entitlements that every individual holds, and are not to be violated by another individual. EAVA Artists have curated an Arts Festival driven by the theme; DEFEND. It’s a showcase of the universality of human rights as viewed through the eyes of an artist, in the end everyone owes it to themselves to defend their human rights and those of their neighbours. This is one for the books.

It is a political season in the Republic of Uganda, the citizens know what this means. From us at WAGWIS Events; be safe out there, look out for your brother and sister. Mind you, there are still hens to slaughter this festive season 😉 .

Until Next time, I remain…

Yours truly,

ThiWordKnight
