NEW UGANDAN FILM ALERT
A while ago, I heard about a feature film that was coming from the people working closely with the ‘OPPORTUNITIES ARE HERE’ project. They held successful auditions, and the pre-production work started, production, and now post-production is in the final stages. The film is called ‘YOU MAY KISS THE BRIDE GOODBYE’.
This film is special for many reasons, but most importantly, it’s the film directorial debut of my long-time friend Drake Steven Makanga (Clay) (guy who used to speak a lot of English on Sanyu FM). Drake has evolved from working on Pearl Magic Prime TV dramas like Prestige, Crossroads, and Beloved and now his first feature film. Congratulations Drake. Now you will hang up your film critic cap because you have entered the battlefield.
FILM BRIEF
A slay queen is in a forbidden romantic relationship with a CEO, and they are willing to risk everything. What happens to them is what we shall find out when we watch the film. The film dives deep into the emotional wreckage when love collides with power, pride, and secrecy.
I have been told that “This film dares to go where most won’t.”
I can’t wait to see this.
Exclusive premiere is on June 14th, 2025. Invitation only, and then it will show at the National Theatre Uganda on June 18th, 2025

Am excited and can’t wait I trust the writer and the cast is just perfect. My only challenge is being a northerner I fell u guys all either just leave us behind or don’t like to shop from this side we don’t even get to hear of auditions
