My Most Embarrassing Moment

In 1998 when I was in Grade 9, a few students and I had gone to the shops at Maerua Mall which was across the street from my high school.

We had to go and buy lunch and a few (essentials) which one of the teachers had asked us to go and buy. On our way back, I was busy having a conversation with one of the other students and was not minding where I was walking and stepped on the edge of one of the schools iron drain lids, which was not placed back properly. I fell in the drain hole, which was luckily dry and not full of any dirt or anything for that matter.

Everyone noticed (the whole school I mean) as it was during assembly so everyone was lined up outside in the amphitheatre and we were rushing to get back before it actually started.

The whole school children erupted in laughter as well as the students I had gone to the shops with, they helped me out. I did not break anything just had a few scratches here and there. As you can imagine everyone made fun, teasing me and making jokes all throughout the day.

This still goes down as one of my most embarrassing moments as I can still remember it so vividly.

Another time,

Once in 2018, I was at work and we had a celebration at the office as one of my colleagues had graduated. We had to set up everything in the boardroom where everyone would gather for the celebrations after the graduation ceremony.

The time came and everyone gathered in the boardroom and we were into the celebrations and all. I had gone back to my desk to quickly go and get my phone which I had left at my desk while I was busy setting up in the boardroom. As I walked I felt the need to fart, thinking it was not anything big I let loose and accidentally shit my pants. The embarrassment I felt was too much but luckily I was the only one in the corridor.

The outfit I had on that day was a beige jumper and maroon tights, so, yes you would notice and the smell was also not friendly at all.  I started running to get to the toilets which was at the other side of the building, hoping that no one finds or sees me in this time, but one of my bosses came looking for me that time and wanted to discuss something. I tried in the most polite way to get out of that conversation before he noticed anything and ran to the toilets.

I locked myself in and started cleaning myself. I remained there for most of the day as the tights and underwear had to dry. Everyone thought I had left early to go home or to another function, but I was stuck in the bathroom cleaning my number two.
