My name is Phionah Bahungirehe. Many people who i have interacted with lately choose to call me ‘Village Girl’ a name i earned after publishing a collection of Poetry ‘MY VILLAGE’ The Heart of a Village Girl.

I write Poetry for personal therapy. I am glad i give life’s cake a sugar icing quoted with humor.

I undress the Village beauty in me that is admired by city dwellers. My aim is to expose the ‘Village Girl’ to unveiling her potential and breaking all barriers set before her to becoming the woman that she can be.

Behold, from the beautiful hills of ‘My Village’ comes love, beauty, sweetness, romance and good life.

I am a primary and secondary school teacher trainer, author of children’s literature and poetry in local language and English, Translator, editor and proof reader. I am currently working as a project coordinator for the Rufumbira Bible Translation Project with The Bible Society if Uganda.
