My name is Coreen, though most people call me Corrie. I have never considered myself a writer. My heart was always drawn to art—I found it easier to express myself visually and understood others better when they did the same.

Until now.

Recently, I was pushed into the literary world. But looking back, maybe I was always meant to be here. Writers have always surrounded me, and somehow, I have always surrounded myself with them. Lately, I’ve realized I know more writers than artists.

And so, after years of people assuming I was a writer, I’ve finally given in. I have officially begun my writing journey.

Ironically, writing has shaped my career more than I ever acknowledged. I work as a communications officer—a role I landed because of my writing skills. Before that, I was in digital marketing—another job I got because of my writing.

Now, I am choosing to embrace writing, not just as a skill but as a form of expression. I believe that by intentionally improving my craft, I’ll not only enhance my work but also discover new ways to tell my own story.

This is the beginning of something new, and I’m excited for the journey ahead.
